About

In 2014 I began writing the first novel in the Spanish Moss Series. This fictional series is based in Savannah Georgia and will fall under women’s fiction with a mystery spin.

“Tina” Christina O’Brien Calhoun – is a native Savannahian with a family tree dates back to the 1800 Irish settlers. The Calhoun family currently runs the most successful fishing fighting chair business in the US named “Fightin Irish Chairs”.

Tina and her family live on Whitemarsh Island along Bull River with her childhood home facing Thunderbolt’s river view and overlooks the historical Bonaventure Cemetery. The breathtaking views and history of Savannah are described in these stories along with a gambit of characters.

The first book introduces us to Tina and several of her co-workers at a local hospital. We learn about her divorce and see how strong a single mother needs to be to overcome the heartbreak and challenges of being newly single again.

As Tina “gets her groove back” with a little help from a strapping young medical resident, she stumbles upon a medical error caused by a longtime family friend and Chief of Surgery. Or was it murder?

Hope this peeks your interest!

Cheers

      1. I went to a GA writers workshop with a guest speaker {see Dec 13 post} and she made several good points about the differences between trad/self publishing one of which stuck with me that those who publish through a house can attend the state and national conferences which gives you access to all retailers, houses and agents. The biggie are the retailers can’t sell through them without an housed published book {Amazon is the exception}. They also work hard to market your books through retail tours, signings, guest speaking etc. she also suggested signing up for query tracker.net which is an online database for you to track all your agent queries. See my post for more info. Really helped me make my decision.

  2. Southern women’s fiction always seem to ooze charm and class. It’s a story classification I seem to be drawn to organically. So many great authors to choose from as well.
I wish you great success in joining the ranks of those lofty folk and look forward to congratulating you when everything is done and dusted, and the ink has finally dried.
    Cheers, Janet. Happy writing!
